It's been pretty quiet here over the last while, but a lot has been happening in the background, and this self-isolation business has the good side effect of providing me more time to work on new Club System features!

There were several releases done over the last while, with specific requests or fixes for clubs. These have now all been pulled together with some exciting new features such as Stripe and SendGrid integration for the first full release for 2020. Full list below, and happy to provide further information on any feature or fix as required.

2019 Q1 Update

2019 is upon us, and there are several things in the works for Club System. Firstly a recap on last year... It was fairly quiet in terms of new features being available, but there was a lot happening behind the scenes.

Last Quarter's Highlights

.Net Framework Upgrade
The code has been upgraded to a later version of .Net, making it more stable and secure. This has now opened the door for several items which were not possible on lower versions of .Net

Prep for Mail Server Upgrade
We've been working closely with the hosting over the last few months and have made some underlying changes to enable the new mail server upgrade (see below)

More Support
Conversations and negotiations are in progress for bringing more people into the Club System team, especially in the development area. This will enable us to respond to your queries faster and build a better product.

Mail Server Upgrade
The hosting is upgrade to a new mail server which provides better features, including the ability to manage your own email accounts.

Over the next few weeks we will be migrating all clubs. The only impact will be you will need to update your email clients to use the new mail server settings. I'll be in contact with each club to let you know when you are scheduled for and to provide the new details.

Stripe Integration
Stripe is an alternate payment gateway (similar to PayPal) which is currently being integrated with Club System, and will soon be available. If you are interested in using Stripe on your site then please contact me (note there will be a small setup fee to get it running on your site).

Club System Sites now more secure

Over the past few months I have been working with the new hosting company (WebRes) to enhance the security on Club System. I'm happy to announce that as of last week all Club System sites have support for TLS encryption enabled.

This means your site will now be accessible over https. When accessing your Club System site (depending on the browser you use) you should see a lock icon or the word Secure, indicating any information sent to the site is encrypted and private.

Some advantages of using https:

• All data flowing to and from the site is encrypted and therefore is private and more secure
• Https sites are ranked higher that unencypted sites
• Some browsers (such as Chrome) will stop showing pages which are not encrypted in the near future
